The basics

For runners

How long until my clip is online?+

Clips are usually live within 24–48 hours of the event finishing. We film every finisher on the day, then process and match each clip overnight. Once the event page is live you can search for your name straight away, and there's nothing to wait for after that.

How do I find my clip?+

Head to your event's page and search by your name. That's it: no login, no account, no app to download. Your slow-motion finish line clip will appear ready to watch.

The link to each event page is shared by the event organiser and on our homepage. If you ran a recent event, check the announcement on the Fast Finish homepage.

I can't find my clip. What now?+

A few things to try first:

  • Check the spelling, and try searching by just your first or last name.
  • Try the name exactly as it appeared on your race entry, as that's what we match against.
  • Make sure the clips for your event have actually gone live (24–48 hours after the race).

Occasionally a finisher is missed at the line, or a name doesn't match the results file we were given. If you still can't find yourself, email us with your name, bib number and event, and we'll check the footage for you.

What do I actually get?+

Every paid download includes:

  • Your slow-motion video, landscape (16:9): a multi-angle clip following you from the approach right through to the finish line, in HD slow motion, clean with no watermark.
  • A vertical version (9:16): the same finish cut sized for Instagram Reels and TikTok.
  • Three photos: sharp stills pulled from the footage as you crossed the line.

Both are yours to keep, share and re-watch as much as you like.

Do I have to pay to watch it?+

No. Watching your clip is always free. The preview on the event page is watermarked. You only pay if you'd like to download the clean, full-quality versions (and the photos) to keep.

How big / what quality is the video?+

Clips are delivered in stunning 4K, filmed at a high frame rate so the slow motion stays smooth and crisp. The videos are standard MP4 files (a landscape cut and a vertical cut) that play on any phone, computer or TV, and the photos are crisp, full-quality stills.

How is my clip delivered after I pay?+

As soon as your payment goes through, your downloads unlock right there on the page, with no waiting and nothing posted to you. The files download straight to your device. Want them again later? Open the "Already purchased? Unlock your downloads" box on your clip and enter the email you paid with, and your links come straight back.

Can I share my clip on social media?+

Absolutely, that's the whole point! Once you've downloaded it, share it with whoever you like on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, wherever. We love a tag too: find us at @fastfinish.nz on Instagram and TikTok.

Money matters

Pricing & payment

How much does it cost?+

It's pay what you want, with a suggested price of $20 NZD. Watching is always free, and you decide what the download is worth to you when you buy it.

Why pay-what-you-want?+

Because your finish line moment is worth different things to different people, and we'd rather more runners got to keep their clip than price anyone out. Pay the suggested $20 if it's worth it to you, more if you loved it, or less if that's where you're at. We trust you.

What payment methods do you accept?+

Payments are handled securely by Stripe, so you can pay with any major credit or debit card. We never see or store your card details.

Can I get a refund?+

Because you can watch the full preview before you decide, set your own price, and the download is delivered instantly, all sales are final and we don't offer refunds. If you ever hit a genuine technical problem with a file, get in touch and we'll happily help you get it sorted.

How long is my clip available to download?+

Event pages and clips stay online for a good while after each race, so there's no rush. We do recommend downloading and saving your files once you've bought them, as footage isn't kept indefinitely. If you need an older clip and it's gone, ask us and we may still have it.

Your footage, your rights

Privacy & usage

Why am I being filmed at the finish line?+

Fast Finish films at public sporting events with the permission of the event organiser. For most events, your consent to be filmed and photographed is covered by the terms you agreed to when you entered the race. We operate as the organiser's media service provider at the finish line.

Can I have my clip removed?+

Yes. If you'd like your clip and photo still taken off the event page, or excluded from any promotional use, just email us and we'll action it promptly. Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can also ask to access or correct any information we hold about you.

Can I use my clip commercially?+

Buying a download gives you a personal, non-commercial licence to use your clip and still, perfect for sharing, keeping and celebrating. The footage itself remains the property of MC Media Studios, so commercial use needs our written consent first. Just ask us if you have something in mind.

Do you use my footage for marketing?+

We occasionally use event footage or stills to promote Fast Finish on our website and social media. If you'd prefer footage of you wasn't used that way, let us know and we'll exclude it. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.

Running an event?

For organisers

What does it cost my event?+

Nothing. Fast Finish is free to your event: there's no fee, no setup cost and nothing to budget for. All revenue is handled by us directly with the runners through optional pay-what-you-want downloads.

What do you need from me?+

Just one results file with finisher names (and finish times if you have them). We handle the filming on the day, the processing, the page build and the delivery. There's no technical work or ongoing admin on your end.

Will the page match our event branding?+

Yes, every event gets a branded landing page with your event logo and colours, ready to drop into your race-week emails and social posts. It looks like part of your event, not a generic template.

How big does our event need to be?+

Any size works, from around 50 finishers up to 5,000+. Whether it's a community parkrun or a major half marathon, the process is the same.

How does participant consent work?+

Participant consent to be filmed and photographed is covered under your event entry terms. Most event terms already include media and likeness clauses; we operate as your media service provider and assignee for the finish line footage. We'll happily talk you through exactly what wording is needed before your event.

How do I bring Fast Finish to my event?+

Easy: fill out the short enquiry form on our homepage or email hello@fastfinish.co.nz with your event name, date and rough finisher numbers. We'll get back to you within one business day.

A bit more

What exactly is Fast Finish?+

Fast Finish is a New Zealand finish line video service. We set up at running events and capture every finisher in slow motion, then put each runner's personalised clip on a searchable event page within a day or two of the race. Watch free, pay what you want to download. It's operated by MC Media Studios.

Where do you operate?+

We're based in New Zealand and work with running events around the country. If you're a runner, you'll find us at the events that have partnered with Fast Finish, and we're adding more all the time.

Can you film at my event?+

We'd love to. Fast Finish is built for running events of any size: just send us a note via the organiser enquiry form or email hello@fastfinish.co.nz and we'll take it from there.
